The Bridge Theatre proudly presents the European premiere of White Noise, a disturbing, powerful, and possibly essential new piece of work by Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks which will showcase at the venue for a limited season until November 13th.
Dawn, Leo, Ralph and Misha have been close friends since college. Leo is a visual artist who might possibly be more successful if he could just get some sleep. His lawyer girlfriend Dawn is a social justice advocate. Their friend Misha hosts an online show titled “Ask A Black,” while Ralph, her boyfriend is close to getting tenure. The foursome's whole world changes dramatically forever when Leo is viciously assaulted by a police officer and, while still traumatised in the aftermath of the attack, he approaches Ralph with what looks like an extreme proposal.
Suzan-Lori Parks is a celebrated playwright whose previous works include the Pulitzer Prize-winning play 'Topdog/Underdog'. Parks became the first African-American woman to be awarded the prestigious prize and now returns to London with a new play that simply demands to be seen.
White Noise is both a trenchant and shocking new drama that delves in and probes some of our most comfortably held beliefs about activism, race, and social justice.
