Aaron Sorkin's new and much anticipated West End stage adaptation of Harper Lee's seminal tale of racial injustice will be now showcased onstage at the Gielgud Theatre until at least November 19th it has been announced today. Tickets to To Kill a Mockingbird are on sale and available to book online.
The plot of To Kill A Mockingbird is set in Alabama during the 1930's and focusses on lawyer Atticus Finch and his family as he tries to defend a wrongfully accused negro, Tom Robinson. The action is narrated by Atticus's daughter Scout, as she learns of the many tragic injustices that are alive and exist within her small town and also the world in general.
This latest stage adaptation first opened in 2018 on Broadway and was nominated for 9 Tony Awards. Bartlett Sher directs the London production which stars Rafe Spall in the role of Atticus Finch, Jude Owusu as Tom Robinson, Gwyneth Keyworth as Scout Finch, Pamela Nomvete as Calpurnia, David Moorst as Dill Harris, and Harry Redding as Jem Finch.
Performances of To Kill a Mockingbird began previews on March 10th, and opened officially on March 31st.
