A new cast has been announced to take over the reigns at the Fortune Theatre in the long running spooky thriller, The Woman in Black from June 7th. Tickets to The Woman in Black are on currently on sale both online and through the box office.
Reprising the role of Arthur Kipps will be Julian Forsyth who first starred in the role back in 2010 and returned again in 2014. Forsyth’s other West End credits include roles in both 'Sunset Boulevard' and 'An American in Paris'.
Matthew Spencer will once again take on the role of The Actor in the production, having previously played the part both at the Fortune Theatre and also on tour with the production. Spencer’s previous London stage credits include 'War Horse' and 'Amadeus'.
The plot of The Woman in Black focusses on lawyer Arthur Kipps as he tells of his terrifying experiences to an actor in the hope of exorcising his deep rooted fears. The Woman in Black first opened in London back in 1989 and is now the second longest-running play in London after Agatha Christie's 'The Mousetrap'.
Susan Hill's chilling and atmospheric thriller, The Woman in Black has been adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, and is directed by Robin Herford, featuring lighting by Kevin Sleep. and designs by Michael Holt.
