'The Wife Of Willesden' Set For Return To Kiln Theatre

Following its premiere last year, The Wife of Willesden is set to return to the Kiln Theatre later this year with Clare Perkins reprising her role as Alvita. The Wife of Willesden will begin previews at the Kiln Theatre on December 14th, with an opening night scheduled for December 20th and performances running until January 28th, 2023.

Speaking about the production, Kiln Theatre artistic director, Indhu Rubasingham commented “It’s such a pleasure to be able to bring back our hit production of The Wife of Willesden. To have another opportunity to share it with more audiences is a real treat.”

The Wife of Willesden is a modern take on Chaucer’s tale, 'The Wife of Bath'. The play is set in north-west London, and follows Alvita as she shares her life story over a few drinks with those around her in a local pub. The auditorium of the Kiln Theatre is transformed into a local pub for the production, including pub-style seating.

Further casting for the play is yet to be announced. The production will be directed by Rubasingham, and features composition and Sound Design by Ben and Max Ringham, design by Robert Jones, and lighting design by Guy Hoare.

Performances of The Wife of Willesden will begin at the Kiln Theatre on December 14th, 2023.
