Ahead of the world premiere of the final part of Hilary Mantel's critically acclaimed Wolf Hall trilogy opening later this month, an extended booking period has been announced for The Mirror And The Light at the Gielgud Theatre which will now run from September 23rd until January 23rd 2022. Tickets to The Mirror and the Light are currently on sale.
The Mirror and the Light charts the political career of Thomas Cromwell inside the court of Henry VIII while he and his wife Jane Seymour are trying to produce an heir to the throne, and comes to the stage a full seven years after the hugely successful and award-winning plays Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies.
The full cast will see Ben Miles reprising the role of Thomas Cromwell. He is joined by Nathaniel Parker who returns to his role as Henry VIII. The cast is completed by Paul Adeyefa, Liam Smith, Ian Drysdale, Rosanna Adams, Terique Jarrett, Andrew Hodges. Samuel Awoyo, Olivia Marcus, Nicholas Boulton, Giles Taylor, Aurora Dawson-Hunte, Melissa Allan, Mark Extance, Geoffrey Lumb, Jo Herbert, Niamh James, Jordan Kouamé, Umi Myers, Matt Pidgeon, Tony Turner, Nicholas Woodeson, and Leo Wan
Jeremy Herrin also returns to direct The Mirror and the Light following his award-winning direction of both the previous two chapters in the trilogy. Costume design is provided by Christopher Oram, with music by Stephen Warbeck, sound design by Nick Powell and lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun.
Following the run of The Mirror and the Light, the Gielgud Theatre will play host to the hugely anticipated West End premiere of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, which will begin performances on March 10th. 2022.
