The Southwark Playhouse presents The Lion - a one-man folk musical that tells a true story of survival. With his guitar in hand, Ben head-on confronts his own turbulent life journey from a damaging rift during his childhood to his own dangerous brush with mortality. Ben tells an inspiring story of love, despair, loss and hope during 70 minutes of monologues, songs and virtuosic guitar playing that reminds us that, even during the darkest times, family, music and community can help all of us to find our true voice and ultimately the strength to ‘Weather the Storm’.
“Every heart is made stronger by scars.”
The Lion stars Max Alexander-Taylor in the role of Ben and is the first revival of Benjamin Scheuer’s Drama Desk Award-winning autobiographical show.
