West End Version Of TV Show Spitting Image To Open In 2022

The popular TV series Spitting Image is to be adapted into a West End show in 2022 with performance and casting details as well as a West End venue as yet to be revealed.

The show will be based on the original 1984 series, which reflects on recent news stories using politically incorrect satire in the form of sketches played out by puppet caricatures. The TV show was recently revived in 2020, with a Christmas Eve special scheduled to be aired at 10 pm this Friday. Hundreds of puppets have been created since the show first aired, including James Corden, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Olivia Colman, Adele, pretty much every notable politician and even a Covid-19 puppet.

Speaking about a West End production of Spitting Image, co-creator Roger Law said: “We can't give too much away at this time, possibly because we're still writing it, however, unlike Boris, we will deliver with no shortcuts.”

Voice artists for Spitting Image include  Matt Forde, Indira Varma, Debra Stephenson, Jess Robinson, and Luke Kempner. New scenes and puppets are regularly created as close to the airing of an episode as possible.

Performances of Spitting Image will begin in the West End in 2022. Please continue to monitor the website for updates regarding booking tickets to Spitting Image.
