'Room On The Broom' To Return To West End For Summer Holidays

Family favourite, Room on the Broom is to return to the West End this summer and will play daytime performances at the Lyric Theatre from July 21st to September 4th.

Room on the Broom is based on Axel Scheffler and Julia Donaldson's popular children’s book of the same name and follows the fortunes of a witch and her cat who make friends with a whole range of different animals. But as they are flying on her broomstick, the stick suddenly snaps and they have to face a fierce dragon.

The cast of this year’s Room on the Broom will include Jessica Manu in the role of the Witch, Peter Steele as both the Dog and Frog, Jake Waring as the Bird and also the Dragon, Hannah Miller as the Cat, and Jayant Singh.

Room On The Broom is directed by Olivia Jacobs, and features music by Andy Shaw and Jon Fiber, lighting design by James Whiteside, design by Morgan Large, puppet design by Yvonne Stone, and choreography by Morag Cross. In 2013, Room on the Broom won the Olivier Award for 'Best Family and Entertainment'.

The resident show at the Lyric Theatre during the evenings and select afternoons is currently Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical.

Performances of Room on the Broom will be at the Lyric Theatre from July 21st until September 4th.
