Additional casting for the stage adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s play, The Mirror and the Light has been now been announced, ahead of its world premiere in the West End at the Gielgud Theatre where performances will commence from September 23rd. Tickets to the production are now on sale.
Nathaniel Parker and Ben Miles reprise their acclaimed roles as Henry VIII and Thomas Cromwell respectively. The pair are joined by three other cast members reprising roles from Bring Up The Bodies and Wolf Hall: Matt Pidgeon as Stephen Gardiner, Nicholas Boulton as the Duke of Suffolk, and Giles Taylor will play Archbishop Cranmer.
The 23 strong cast includes Rosanna Adams in the role of Anna of Cleves, Aurora Burghart as Elizabeth Seymour, Paul Adeyefa as Christophe, Terique Jarrett as Gregory Cromwell, Tony Turner as Kingston, Geoffrey Lumb as Thomas Wriothesley, Leo Wan as Richard Riche, Jordan Kouamé as Rafe Sadler, Olivia Marcus as Jane Seymour, and Nicholas Woodeson as Duke of Norfolk. Full casting for the play is yet to be announced.
Set during the reign of Henry VIII in Tudor England, The Mirror and the Light highlights the dual narratives of Thomas Cromwell and follows his rise through the courts, while Jane Seymour is under pressure to deliver King Henry VIII a healthy heir. The Mirror and the Light is the third and final novel in the Wolf Hall trilogy, and follows the previous stage adaptations of both Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies which were showcased in London back in 2014.
The Mirror and the Light has been adapted for the stage by Ben Miles and Hilary Mantel. Jeremy Herrin directs, with music by Stephen Warbeck, scenic and costume design by Christopher Oram, sound design by Nick Powell, and lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun.
Performances of The Mirror and the Light will begin at the Gielgud Theatre from September 23rd.
