New leading cast members are set to join The Great Gatsby in London from March 9th 2022. The Great Gatsby is currently London’s longest-running immersive production, and is now booking up until at least October 30th. Tickets to The Great Gatsby are on sale now.
The role of Jay Gatsby will be taken over by Elliot Liburd who will be now be joined by Safeena Ladha as Daisy Buchanan.
Speaking about her new role, Liburd said “I'm really excited to explore the character of Gatsby, he is all at once mysterious and readable, vulnerable and authoritative.” Ladha also commented on her new role, saying “I am delighted to be playing Daisy. I think she might be seen by some as just “the golden girl or the love interest” sort of character but I think she is more complex and real than just that ideal.”
The Great Gatsby cast also includes Hugh Stubbins as Euan Wilson as Joey, Greg Fossard as Rosy Rosenthal, Hugh Stubbins as Nick Carraway, Steve McCourt as George Wilson, Alex Wingfield as Tom Buchanan, Aimee Barrett as Myrtle Wilson, Jessica Hern as Jordan Baker, and Sophia Lewis as Lucille.
The Great Gatsby follows the lives of wealthy New Yorkers in 1920's New York, as they gather together at one of socialite Jay Gatsby’s infamous parties and is based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel and subsequent Hollywood movie of the same name. In keeping with the immersive qualities of the production, London audiences are very much encouraged to dress as though they’re involved in the show when attending.
The production team for The Great Gatsby is led by Alexander Wrights who directs, with lighting design from Rachel Sampley, costume design by Heledd Rees, choreography by Holly Beasley-Garrigan, design by Casey Jay Andrews, and also sound design by Phil Grainger.
