Ahead of the much anticipated West End reopening of Jukebox musical & Juliet, a new cast for the show has been announced. The list includes many of the original cast members who will return the musical, which will resume performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre from September 24th.
Alex Thomas-Smith now takes over as May from Arun Blair-Mangat and the Olivier-winning actress Miriam Teak-Lee reprises the role of Juliet, joined by her fellow Olivier winners David Bedella as Lance, and Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway. William Shakespeare will now be portrayed by Oliver Tompsett with Jordan Luke Gage starring as Romeo, Tim Mahendran as Francois and Melanie La Barrie as Nurse.
The talented cast is completed by Josh Baker, Kerri Norville, Roshani Abbey, Jocasta Almgill, Christopher Parkinson, Rhian Duncan, Ivan De Freitas, Kieran Lai, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Kirstie Skivington, Jaye Marshall, Grace Mouat, Billy Nevers, Alex Tranter, Rhys Wilkinson, and Sophie Usher.
& Juliet is a contemporary reimagining of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, where the title character moves away from the original story and travels to Paris where she encounters a whole new group of people and experiences. The show is set to a banging soundtrack of Max Martin songs, including Britney Spears “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and “Larger Than Life” by the Backstreet Boys.
Performances of & Juliet will resume at the Shaftesbury Theatre from September 24th, 2021.
