A new class is forming at Crunchem Hall as a new West End cast is to take over performances of Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre from September 13th. Tickets to Matilda the Musical tickets are currently on sale both online and through the box office.
Joining the cast will be Heidi Williams, Victoria Alsina, and Laurel Sumberg who now join Maisie Mardle to p;lay the title role of Matilda in the production.
Other notable changes to personnel will see Lauren Byrne taking from Carly Thoms in the role of Miss Honey. Byrne's recent stage credits include 'Cinderella' at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. also joining the cast will be Rakesh Boury and Amy Ellen Richardson who now join the company as Mr and Mrs Wormwood.
Continuing in their roles as Miss Trunchbull and Mrs Phelps will be Elliot Harper and Landi Oshinowo.
The remainder of the Matilda adult cast features James Wolstenholme, Michael Gardiner, Felipe Bejarano, Kate Kenrick, Kira McPherson, Angeline Bell, Oliver Bingham, Sam Lathwood, Liberty Buckland, Thea Bunting, Aaron Jenkins, Connor Lewis, Dianté Lodge, Gemma Scholes, and Alistair So.
The children's cast for Matilda includes Lucia Wratten, Mia Atkinson, Leon Saunders, Leo Babet, Riotafari Gardner, Florence Burt, Jasmine Pottinger-Scott, Riley Plummer, Poppy Caton, Jack Philpott, Zuri-Michel Charalambou, Finley Hartlett, Shayla McCormack, Kylan Denis, Brodie Edwards, Jude Farrant, Lily Hanna, Tia Isaac, Miley Kayongo, Isabelle Mullallay, Jasmine Nyenya, Raphaella Philbert, Ashton Robertson, Andrei Shen-U Shen, and Noah Swer-Fox.
Matilda The Musical is based on the Roald Dahl novel of the same name and follows Matilda Wormwood, a gifted child who makes use of her powerful mind to attempt to save the day at her school, Crunchem Hall.
Matilda is written by Dennis Kelly, and features music and lyrics from Tim Minchin. The production has been developed and directed by Matthew Warchus, featuring sound by Simon Baker, scenic design by Rob Howell, choreography by Peter Darling, and lighting by Hugh Vanstone.
Performances of Matilda the Musical continue in the West End at the Cambridge Theatre.
