David Harbour Set To Star In Mad House At Ambassadors Theatre This Summer

Making a much welcome return to the West End this summer will be Tony-nominated actor David Harbour who is set to star at the Ambassadors Theatre in Theresa Rebeck’s new play, Mad House which will begin previews on June 15th, with an opening night scheduled for June 26th and performances due to run until September 4th 2022.

The plot of Mad House is set in rural Pennsylvania, and sees an old man named Michael returning to his childhood home to care for his dying father. When Michael's siblings arrive, they must decide how to fairly split their father's possessions.

David Harbour will take on the part of Michael in Mad House, and is is best known for his role as playing 'Jim Hopper' in the popular Netflix series, 'Stranger Things'. Harbour also has both West End and Broadway credits which include 'Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' which earned him a Tony nomination in 2005 for 'Best Featured Actor in a Play'.

Speaking about his new role in Mad House, Harhour commented, "I'm so excited to return to the London stage with Theresa’s blistering new dark comedy. It features two of my favourite things: the abyss of madness that lies at the pit of every family as they stare blankly, incomprehensively into the nature of our fleeting existence, and real estate.”

Another notable member of the cast of Mad House will be Bill Pullman who will play the part of Daniel. Pullman has recent TV credits which include 'The Sinner' and '1600 Penn' and now makes his return to the West End after previously appearing at the Old Vic in 'All My Sons'. 

Mad House will reunite playwright Theresa Rebeck with director Moritz von Stuelpnagel who have previously worked together on productions in New York, including 'Bernhardt/Hamlet' and 'Seared'.

Full casting and creative team members for Mad House is set to be announced in due course.

Performances of Mad House will be at the Ambassadors Theatre from June 15th.
