It has been announced that Kate Fleetwood is to lead the cast of 101 Dalmatians which will play in London at the Open Air Theatre Regent's Park from July 12th to August 28th.
Fleetwood was due to play Cruella de Ville in the production in 2020 which was eventually postponed due to the pandemic. Now, two years later, she will finally star as the wicked woman who has ambitions to create a lavish fur coat made out of dalmatians.
The two dalmatians Perdi and Pongo are to be puppeteered by Ben Thompson (Pongo Head) and Danny Collins (Pongo Voice), and Yana Penrose (Perdi Head) and Emma Lucia (Perdi Voice.)
The rest of the cast of 101 Dalmatians is completed by Grace Wylde, Jamil Abbasi, Eric Stroud, Kody Mortimer, Stuart Angell, CJ Johnson, Jade Davies, George Bukhari, Taofique Folarin, Sonya Cullingford, Karen Fishwick, Joseph Fletcher, Courtney George, Tash Holway, Simon Oskarsson, Tom Peters, and Jonny Weldon.
101 Dalmatians is based on the famous 1956 children’s novel of the same name by Dodie Smith. Zinnie Harris has adapted the story, which features a book by Johnny McKnight and an original musical score from Douglas Hodge.
Toby Olié both directs the production, and serves as the puppet designer, with choreography by Liam Steel, set design by Colin Richmond, lighting design by Howard Hudson, costume design by Katrina Lindsay, and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.
Performances of 101 Dalmatians will be at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from July 12th 2002.
