Understudy Harper-Jackson Replaces Taron Egerton In Cock

Understudy Joel Harper-Jackson has now stepped into the full-time role of 'M' in the West End production of Mike Bartlett's play, COCK which is currently showcasing at the Ambassadors Theatre. Harper-Jackson now stars alongside Jonathan Bailey who plays the role of 'John' in Bartlett's incisive play about sexuality, relationships and gender.

Harper-Jackson now takes over the part from Taron Egerton, who originated the role in the production, but is now leaving the production for personal reasons. As understudy, Harper-Jackson has already been playing the role for the last 10 days following the news that Egerton had tested positive for Covid-19.

Speaking about the appointment, director Marianne Elliot said, "Joel is an absolute hero. He is a brilliant and gifted actor and stepped into the role at extremely short notice. Audiences have been standing and cheering and so am I."

Bailey added in her statement, "Joel is an immense talent and we couldn’t be luckier to have him on board. I am proud to continue sharing the stage with him."

The cast of the play also includes Phil Daniels as 'F', and Jade Anouka as 'W'.

Performances of COCK are due to run at the Ambassadors Theatre until June 4th.
