Harry Potter And The Cursed Child To Return To The Palace Theatre In October

The Palace Theatre will once again open its doors and resume performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on October 14th with rehearsals of the two-part play starting from next month.

Commenting about the grand reopening of the show, producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender said “Reopening Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two in the West End and being part of the return of British Theatre makes us both happy and proud” 

“To be back at the original home of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - the mothership - with our incredibly talented and committed company and welcoming back audiences after such a devastating and prolonged closure will be emotional and thrilling for all of us.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was created specifically for the stage and presented in two separate parts. It is the eighth story in the hit series.

Jamie Ballard is to return to the role of Harry Potter and James Howard reprises his role of Draco Malfoy.  Luke Sumner also returns as Scorpius Malfoy with other initial castings including Dominic Short as Albus Potter, Susie Trayling as Ginny Potter. Michelle Gayle takes the role of Hermione Granger, Thomas Aldridge stars as Ron Weasley, and Phoenix Edwards will play Rose Granger-Weasley. Producers will announce further casting for the show in due course.

The show has won nine Olivier Awards, including Best New Play, and is based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, with the play written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child resumes its residency at the Palace Theatre from October 14th.
