Full casting has now been confirmed ahead of the much anticipated and star-studded revival of the musical, Cabaret in London, which will showcase at a newly renovated Playhouse Theatre, named the 'Kit Kat Club' from November 15th.
The full cast is to join the previously announced Eddie Redmayne who takes the iconic role as The Emcee and Jessie Buckley who will play the part of Sally Bowles.
The role of Cliff Bradshaw will be taken by Omari Douglas, who is currently starring in the play, Constellations at the Vaudeville Theatre, Douglas has previously starred in the musicals 'Five Guys Named Moe', and 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.
Liza Sadovy, who is to play 'Fraulein Schneider' and returns to the West End stage after appearing in Present Laughter at the Old Vic, was due to star opposite David Tennant in the play Good, which has now been postponed. The role of Herr Schultz in Cabaret will be played by Elliot Levey.
Stewart Clarke is to play Ernst Ludwig and Anna-Jane Casey takes the role of Fraulein Kost. The cast of Cabaret is completed by Sally Frith, Josh Andrews, Daniel Perry, Emma Louise Jones, Bethany Terry, Theo Maddix, Emily Benjamin, Matthew Gent, Ela Lisondra, Chris O’Mara, Sophie Maria Wojna, Andre Refig, Christopher Tendai, and Lillie-Pearl Wildman.
Rebecca Frecknall will direct Cabaret, in what will be an immersive adaptation seating 550 per performance in the ;Kit Kat Club' which will take over the Playhouse Theatre as a new, exciting and blossoming relationship between American writer Cliff Bradshaw and nightclub singer Sally Bowles begins.
With both music and lyrics by Fred Ebb, and John Kander, Cabaret features classic songs including “Maybe This Time” and “Money.” The core members of the creative team are completed with costume and scenic design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, sound design by Nick Lidster, and lighting design by Isabella Byrd.
Performances of Cabaret will begin at the Kit Kat Club on November 15th.
