West End musical The Drifters Girl is to get a new leading lady in the role as 'Faye Treadwel' as Felicia Boswell is to replace Beverley Knight and make her West End debut as the legendary music manager at the Garrick Theatre. Tickets to The Drifters Girl are currently on sale now online and at the box office.
Boswell take over the role of Treadwell in The Drifters Girl from July 5th and has Broadway credits that include 'Memphis', 'Shuffle Along', and 'Motown the Musical'. Coincidentally, as well as playing the part of 'Faye Treadwell,' Boswell and Beverley Knight have also both played the role of 'Felicia' in productions of 'Memphis'.
The cast of The Drifters Girl features Matt Henry, Tosh Wanogho-Maud, Adam J.Bernard, and Tarinn Callender who multi-role as Drifters members. The Drifters Girl understudies are made up of Marcus Ayton, Ashford Campbell, Ethan Davis, Vanessa Ela Young, Curtis Scott, Michael James Stewart, and Alanna Leslie. The other young actors featured in the production are Amari Brown, Aurora Baptiste, Shanyia Tsoto, Savanna Musoni, and Savannah Skinner-Henry.
The Drifters Girl musical charts the true story of how The Drifters, rose to become international superstars and centres on how their determined manager Faye Treadwell helped to launch the band’s star studded career, while also navigating a series of public and private issues.
The Drifters Girl is directed by Jonathan Church and features an original story that is based on an idea by Tina Treadwell and a book from Ed Curtis. The wider creative team in the show features sound design by Tom Marshall, choreography by Karen Bruce, set design is by Anthony Ward, with, costume design by Fay Fullerton, and lighting design by Ben Cracknell.
