It looks like the school year will be finishing early for West End favourite Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, as it has been announced that performances are to cease at the Apollo Theatre on September 26th, with a short “pause” period before returning to the stage in 2022.
An interim production at the Apollo Theatre has yet to be announced.
Producer Nica Burns said of the postponement, “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has come a long way from its debut in Sheffield in 2017. We are delighted to be taking our story round the world and continuing to bring fun and joy and a great night out for audiences in London and across the UK for many years to come.”
Following its world premiere in Sheffield, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie made the transfer to the Apollo Theatre in London back in November 2017, where it has been the resident show ever since. Based on a true story, the show follows the fortunes of 16-year-old Jamie as he defies convention and finds himself in the spotlight by wearing a dress to his school prom.
The cast at the Apollo Theatre for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie currently features Noah Thomas in the role of Jamie, who is joined by Shane Richie, Jordan Ricketts, Sejal Keshwala, Melissa Jacques, Hiba Elchikhe, Phil Nicol, Alexander Archer, Gillian FordZion Battles, Marlon G. Day, Zahra Jones, Emily Kenwright, James Gillan, Keenan Knight, Garry Lee, David O’Reilly, Jordan Laviniere, Harriet Payne, and Rachel Seiran.
Performances of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will continue at the Apollo Theatre until 26th September and tickets are currently available to purchase securely online. Further booking periods will be announced in due course.
