Ahead of its much-anticipated West End opening, the cast of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical West End has been announced with previews at the Arts Theatre due to begin on April 9th, and an opening night scheduled for April 19th. Tickets to Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical tickets will be on sale soon.
Taking on the lead roles of Bonnie and Clyde will be Olivier nominee Frances Mayli McCann and Jordan Luke Gage respectively. Both actors appeared in the 2021 West End production of Heathers, and McCann also starred as 'Bonnie' in the Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical concert staged at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Other notable roles in the forthcoming show will see Olivier winner George Maguire who will play Buck, and Natalie McQueen will take on the role of Blanche Barrow who both also starred in the Drury Lane concert.
The full cast of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical will feature Ako Mitchell as Preacher, Cleve September as Ted, Ross Dawes as Captain Frank Hamer, Pippa Winslow as Cumie Barrow/Governor Miriam Ferguson/Eleanore, Alistair So as Sheriff Schmid, Alexander Evans as Henry Barrow/Deputy Johnson, Gracie Lai as Emma Parker/Stella, Barney Wilkinson as Bud/Archie and swings Charlie McCullagh and Annie Guy. Casting for the roles of Trish and the Young Bonnie and Clyde are still to be announced.
The plot of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical is based on the true and infamous story of Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow who were an American criminal couple who embarked on robbery and killing sprees during the Great Depression. Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical will feature an original book from Ivan Menchell, with music by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Don Black. Songs set to feature in the show will include “The World Will Remember Us.” and “How 'Bout a Dance?"
The creative team behind Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical features direction by Nick Winston, and costume and set design from Philip Whitcomb.
Performances of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical will begin at the Arts Theatre on April 9th.
