After being cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Noel Coward’s classic comedy, Blithe Spirit will finally resume performances in the West End at a new location in the Harold Pinter Theatre this Autumn with Jennifer Saunders reprising her role of Madame Arcati from 16th September - 6th November.
This latest production of Blithe Spirit first opened up at the Theatre Royal Bath back in June 2019, before transferring to the West End at the Duke of York’s Theatre in March 2020, just two weeks before the West End was forced to shut down due to the pandemic.
Blithe Spirit sees a dinner party being entertained mid-way through the evening by clairvoyant Madame Arcati who stages a séance in the dining room. This in itself would be tricky enough, but when Arcati reaches out and gets in touch with the spirit of one of the guest’s late wife, total chaos ensues!
Jennifer Saunders takes the role of Arcati and is due to return again to the capital in 2022 to star in Sister Act -The Musical. Blithe Spirit will be directed by Richard Eyre, and Saunders is joined on stage by original cast members, Lisa Dillon as Ruth Condomine, Geoffrey Streatfeild as Charles Condomine, Lucy Robinson as Mrs Bradman, Simon Coates as Dr Bradman, and Rose Wardlaw as Edith.
Blithe Spirit will play at the Harold Pinter Theatre from September 16th - November 6th
