Keala Settle is set to make her West End debut in the role of the Nurse in & Juliet as part of a new cast that will be joining the popular production at the Shaftesbury Theatre from March 29th. Tickets to & Juliet tickets are on sale now.
Settle is best known for her role in the 2017 movie 'The Greatest Showman' where she appeared as 'bearded lady', Lettie Lutz, and performed the Golden Globe-winning song “This Is Me,” but has also starred on Broadway in productions including Les Miserables, Waitress, and Hands on a Hardbody. Settle will appear in & Juliet up until June 18th.
Melanie La Barrie, David Bedella, and Jordan Luke Gage will all play their final performances as the Nurse, Lance, and Romeo respectively on March 26th, with new casting for these roles set to be announced in due course.
The cast of & Juliet is led by Miriam-Teak Lee in the role of Juliet, with Cassidy Janson supporting as Anne Hathaway. Other notable cast members include Alex Thomas-Smith as May, Oliver Tompsett as William Shakespeare, and Tim Mahendran as Francois. The rest of the & Juliet ensemble includes Rhys Wilkinson, Kerri Norville, Kirstie Skivington, Kieran Lai, Jaye Marshall, Roshani Abbey, Jocasta Almgill, Alex Tranter, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Ivan De Freitas, Rhian Duncan, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Josh Baker, Grace Mouat, Billy Nevers, Christopher Parkinson, and Sophie Usher.
& Juliet is a rip-roaring and contemporary retelling of William Shakespeare’s classic story of 'Romeo & Juliet', which follows Juliet as she reclaims 'her' story by traveling to Paris. The musical features an array of hit pop songs written by Max Martin, including “Stronger” by Britney Spears, and “Confident” by Demi Lovato.
