An all star cast has been announced for the forthcoming and highly anticipated revival of Sister Act at the Eventim Apollo which is set to will run from July19th to August 28th, Tickets to Sister Act tickets are on sale now.
Taking the lead role as Deloris Van Cartier will be Beverley Knight who is currently starring at the Garrick Theatre in The Drifters Girl as Faye Treadwell. The Sister Act cast will also feature Keala Settle in the role of Sister Mary Patrick. Settle, who is possibly best known for her role as 'Lettie Lutz' in the popular movie 'The Greatest Showman' is due to make her West End debut later this month in & Juliet in the role of the Nurse.
Other notable members of the Sister Act cast will include Jennifer Saunders, who will play Mother Superior, Lizzie Bea as Sister Mary Robert, Lesley Joseph as Sister Mary Lazarus, and Clive Rowe as Eddie Souther.
The rest of the cast announced so far includes Caroline Bateson, Jeremy Secomb, Tanya Edwards, Graham McDuff, Jermaine Woods, Tricia Deighton, Anne Smith, Lori Haley Fox, Tom Hopcroft, Bradley Judge, Catherine Millsom, Emma Ralston, and Michael Ward, with further casting to be announced.
The exciting and new, reworked production of Sister Act will feature an updated script, with the role of Deloris having been adapted for an older actress. The base story of Sister Act remains the same though, following lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier, who is placed in a witness protection programme after witnessing a murder and joins a convent.
Sister Act has a book by Douglas Carter Beane, and Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and music by Alan Menken.
The rest of the creative team will be made up of Bill Buckhurst, who directs the production, Tom Marshall as the sound designer, Morgan Large as set and costume designer, Alistair David as choreographer, and Tim Mitchell as lighting designer.
Performances of Sister Act will be at the Eventim Apollo from July 19th.
