The Jamie Lloyd Company has revealed its list of productions for 2022 including the return of two star performer-led plays that will showcase in the West End. Returning to London in the summer of next year will be the company's production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, which has been adapted by Anya Reiss, and was forced to close previously during previews at the Playhouse Theatre in March 2020. Emilia Clarke will now return to her debut West End role as Nina, which begins on June 29th, 2022 ahead of an opening night on July 6th with performances running until September 10th at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
The cast of the play also includes Daniel Monks as Konstantin, Sophie Wu as Masha, Tom Rhys Harries as Trigorin, and Indira Varma as Arkadina, Katie Buchholz, Joseph Langdon, and Tina Harris with additional casting to be announced in due course.
The Harold Pinter Theatre will also host the return of Martin Crimp's adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand from February 3rd to March 12th. When Lloyd's acclaimed production previously played at the Playhouse Theatre, it received the Olivier Award for 'Best Revival' in 2020. Following its season in the capital, the production will move to Scotland to play the Theatre Royal Glasgow from 18th to 26th March before eventually moving over the pond to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York where it will showcase from April 5th to May 22nd, 2022. James McAvoy is to reprise his Olivier-nominated part in the title role.
The cast of Cyrano De Bergerac also includes Evelyn Miller as Roxane, Adam Best as Le Bret, Brinsley Terence as Theatre Owner, Michele Austin as Ragueneau, Sam Black as Armand, Tazmyn-May Gebbett as Minder, Nari Blair-Mangat as Valvert, Mika Onyx Johnson as Usher, Vaneeka Dadhria as Beatboxer, Tom Edden as De Guiche, Eben Figueiredo as Christian, Jon Furlong as Annoying Person, Carla Harrison-Hodge as Denise, Adrian Der Gregorian as Montfleury, Joseph Langdon as Jean-Paul, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Marie-Louise, and Nima Taleghani as Ligniere.
