In what will now be its third West End venue since the play first premiered at the Noel Coward Theatre in 2021, the spooky thriller, 2.22 - A Ghost Story will now transfer to the Criterion Theatre later this year where it will will showcase from May 7th until September 4th.
The London premiere of 2:22 - A Ghost Story was at the Noel Coward Theatre in 2021, before the production subsequently transferred to the Gielgud Theatre where it had a successful run until February 12th 2022.
Playwright Danny Robins spoke of the transfer, stating: "I'm so damn thrilled that the 2:22 - A Ghost Story journey gets to continue. The response to the play so far has blown me away… My aim, writing the play, was to create a fun, spooky, thought-provoking night out, a show that leaves you buzzing, on the edge of your seat, questioning what you believe. If you haven't seen it yet, I hope you'll come down to the Criterion and see what you believe... if you dare!”
The plot of 2:22 - A Ghost Story follows Jenny, a woman who believes that her new house could possibly be haunted. Determined to discover the truth, Jenny invites some friends over for dinner and together, they stay up until 2:22am to discover what lies in the afterlife.
Full casting for the transfer of 2:22 - A Ghost Story at the Criterion Theatre is set to be announced in due course. The previous cast of the play at the Noel Coward Theatre featured Julia Chan, Lily Allen, Jake Wood and Hadley Fraser, while the Gielgud Theatre cast starred Giovanna Fletcher, James Buckley, Stephanie Beatriz, and Elliot Cowan.
2:22 - A Ghost Story was written by Danny Robins, and is directed by Matthew Dunster with sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound, costume design by Cindy Lin, set design by Anna Fleischle, and lighting design by Lucy Carter.
