La Traviata

La Traviata Tickets London

The tragic tale of love between the courtesan Violetta and the romantic Alfredo Germont is brilliantly played out in this new production of La Traviata at the London Coliseum in a strictly limited season from March 16th 2018.

Set against the hypocritical upper-class fashionable society of the day, Alfredo and Violetta’s love threatens to shame his family. His father makes a direct appeal to Violetta to relinquish her one chance of happiness, to which she submits and eventually her act of self-sacrifice leads to her paying the ultimate price.

Daniel Kramer directs in his debut as ENO Artistic Director which contrasts both spectacular party scenes along with tender, intimate moments. Verdi’s operatic masterpiece features one of the most iconic, romantic and tragic musical scores ever heard.

Outstanding young soprano Claudia Boyle sings Violetta, joined by the rising tenor Lukhanyo Moyake as Alfredo. Conductor Leo McFall also makes his ENO debut in a dramatic production that showcases the fantastic and award-winning ENO Chorus and Orchestra.
