Abigail's Party Announces Full Cast

Menier Chocolate Factory's forthcoming play Abigail's Party, have now released the full casting details seeing Joe Absolom, Andy Nyman, Natalie Casey and Susannah Harker joining Jill Halfpenny Mike Leigh's classic play.

Abigail's Party, which opens on March 8th, centres on Beverly, played by Jill Halfpenny and her husband Laurence (Andy Nyman) who host a drinks party for their neighbours. There is plenty of booze on offer as well as an array of cheese-pineapple savoury bites, olives and Demis Roussos on the record player. But as the evening progresses, prejudices are unmasked and tempers begin to flare and the night can only end in one way.....disaster!

Andy Nyman returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory after his recent appearance in Terrible Advice. The Ghost Stories creator also boasts credits which include Moonlight And Magnoliasm and Lust at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, but Nyman is perhaps best known for his work for co-creating and writing stage and screen shows for Derren Brown.

Casey who plays the role of Angela also returns to the London Bridge venue following her appearance in The Invisible Man in 2010. The actress, who first found success on TV programmes Hollyoaks and Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, is currently starring at the Savoy Theatre in Legally Blonde The Musical as Pauline, the role that Halfpenny originated in the Olivier Award-winning musical.

Ex- EastEnder's star Joe Absolom will make his west end stage debut in the play as Tony. Best known for his long-running role as Matthew Rose in the BBC soap opera, the actor has also appeared in Doc Martin, New Tricks and Ashes To Ashes.

Pride And Prejudice actress Susannah Harker will return to the London stage after appearing in last year's Little Platoons at the Bush theatre. The BAFTA-nominated actress is best known for her screen work which includes House Of Cards, Young James Herriot and Perfect Parents.

Abigail's Party will begin its run at the Menier Chocolate Factory after the current production Pippin, which will end its run on 25th February.
