Endgame Tickets London

Richard Jones directs Endgame, Samuel Beckett’s macabre comedy at the Old Vic in which both hope and cruelty are the very last things to die.

''Go and get two bicycle-wheels.’'

‘'There are no more bicycle-wheels.’'

‘'What have you done with your bicycle?’'

‘'I never had a bicycle.’'

There is no noise from outside. Hamm, an old, blind tyrant, sits in a bare room locked in a stalemate with his servant Clov where they are interrupted only by the occasional and nostalgic musings of Hamm’s ancient dustbin-dwelling parents. This bleakly funny double act cling stubbornly to their long standing routine based on nothing more than mutual dependence and casual savagery

In a limited season from January 27th 2020 Endgame will be presented in a double bill along with 'Rough for Theatre II',  Beckett’s rarely seen short play, all performed by members of the company.
